The MuCa – Museum of Shipbuilding in Monfalcone will inaugurate on 8 May 2026 at 6:00 PM the exhibition “Alice and Alessandro Psacaropulo: The Season of Naval Decoration”, an exhibition dedicated to the great tradition of 20th-century naval interiors and decoration.
Created with the support of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia – Io Sono Friuli Venezia Giulia, the exhibition presents a journey through some of the most significant artistic collaborations linked to the history of Italian shipbuilding, bringing together art, design and the shipbuilding industry.
Curated by Michele Casaccia and Massimo De Grassi, the exhibition explores four major shipbuilding projects through original designs, previously unpublished documents, sketches and rare surviving pieces of furniture and interior fittings. At the heart of the exhibition is the collaborative work of painter Alice Psacaropulo and her brother Alessandro, an architect and sculptor whose artistic production is now being brought back to the attention of the public and scholars.
The exhibition traces the stories of the Conte Biancamano (1949), the Oceania (1949), the Palatino (1963) and the Raffaello (1965–66), evoking the creative atmosphere of a period when Italy’s great ocean liners served as authentic laboratories for artistic experimentation.
